The PDF Report sheet listing the cover, summary table, item pages and checklist appendix

Step by step

  1. Walk room by room with a checklist so the report has a method the developer cannot dispute.
  2. One snag per item, one photo per snag, the location precise enough to find without you.
  3. Severity on every snag, so the site manager knows which thirty to do first.
  4. Sign and date the cover; send the PDF to the site manager and the customer-care address named in the contract.
  5. Keep the numbering for the re-inspection and report what is closed.

Related questions

Should the report cite NHBC tolerances?

Where you know them, yes, 'exceeds the 5 mm in 2 m tolerance' ends the argument. Where you do not, describe what you saw and let the photo do the work.

Do I send the snagging report to the developer myself?

Usually the buyer sends it, as the contract is theirs. Give them the PDF and the CSV so they can paste the list into the developer's portal if one exists.
